Creative Workshops for Children (ages 5+)
Children are invited to freely explore a variety of art materials. Brief demonstrations on techniques and the proper care of artist materials and equipment will be offered.
Claymation Workshops for Children (ages 8+)
Children are invited to create a character out of plasticine, paint or draw a background, and learn the most basic principles of animation to bring their character to life on video.
Experimental Animation Basics (8+)
Discover the magic of making drawings and inanimate objects spring to life on video. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises and introduced to a variety of animation techniques.
A Taste of Stop Motion Animation (12 +)
In this intensive workshop, participants will design a character, create a storyboard, background and props and create a short video. The aim of this camp is to get a taste of the magic of stop motion animation, but also to go deeper to develop a story around their own character and the world they live in.
At the end of the project, participants will organize a short film festival and can invite friends and family to attend the screening of their very own animated film.
Soft Sculpture Installation (12 +)
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a variety of sculpture materials and techniques (paper, fabric, yarn, clay and found objects) to create individual works of art. At the end of the week, the participants will organize a collaborative installation in the Elephant Art Space or other location and organize an opening reception for their friends and family.
